Augmentor

Whether cursed, tempted, or twisted by outside forces, Augmentors suffer a volatile condition that changes the core of their being. Their transformation grants them unique abilities, but the price of their power looms over every decision. Their journey is one of introspection as they cross the threshold of humanity into something else entirely.

Metamorphosis

Core – Augmentor Trait

Actions with the Evolutionary property call for you to roll a d20 after you perform them.

If the result of the roll is lower than your Augmentor score, it may lead to undesirable effects defined by the discipline the action belongs to.

In addition to its core trait, Metamorphosis, the Augmentor archetype features the following traits, which may be prepared to your focus slots:

Psychosis

Tier IUnbridling Trait

Whenever you fail a Metamorphosis roll, your senses feel scrambled and distorted:

  • You cannot tell friend from foe, making all characters seem hostile to you.
  • You feel an intense paranoia, making you incapable of being a willing target.

Once per turn, you, or someone who you can hear, may attempt to calm you down, giving you the chance to make a WIL SAVE contesting your Augmentor score

On a success, you break free from this trance.

Bloodthirst

Tier IUnhallowing Trait

Whenever you fail a Metamorphosis roll, your hunger drives you mad, like an itch begging to be scratched:

  • At the start of each turn, you are Taunted by the nearest fleshy character you can sense.
  • Every successful Reach-ranged attack against a target made of flesh deals an additional 4 ethereal damage, sinking your teeth into them.
  • You restore HP equal to the damage dealt with this ability.

This hunger is sated once the total damage dealt using this ability surpasses your Augmentor score or you complete a Proper Rest.

Savagery

Tier IUnleashing Trait

Whenever you fail a Metamorphosis roll, your humanity slips, and instinct takes hold:

  • You are trapped in your animalistic form, unable to change form or revert to normal.
  • You adopt the Mind-related attribute scores of the Fauna you’ve become, and inherit its instinctual behavior.
  • You are incapable of performing discipline actions that don’t belong to the Unleashing discipline.

Once per turn, you, or someone who you can hear, may attempt to remind you of who you are, giving you the chance to make a WIL SAVE contesting your Augmentor score

On a success, you regain your sense of self.
